As part of our commitment to sustainability and community engagement, PMB Aluminium (PMBA) recently carried out a meaningful CSR activity at Taman Rekreasi Paya Bakau Sijangkang.

Our team came together to walk the mangrove trail and plant 150 mangrove seedlings, reinforcing our belief that decarbonizing the future goes beyond industry, it is also our responsibility to nature and to the communities around us.

Why Mangroves Matter

Mangroves are often called “blue carbon ecosystems” because of their remarkable ability to capture and store carbon. In fact, they can store up to four times more carbon than tropical rainforests.

Beyond carbon storage, they:

  • Protect coastlines from erosion and storms
  • Provide nurseries for marine life
  • Support biodiversity and wildlife habitats
  • Sustain local communities with livelihoods and eco-tourism

With 150 new mangrove seedlings planted, we contribute to long-term carbon storage and coastal resilience, advancing our decarbonization journey.

This event brought together the PMBA team and their families, with staff encouraging children to join. By engaging the next generation, we nurture awareness and responsibility for protecting our planet.

Each seedling represents restored biodiversity, stronger ecosystems, and a healthier climate for generations to come.

This program reflects PMBA’s vision of driving sustainability through both industrial innovation and environmental responsibility. Just as our aluminium solutions are designed to support decarbonization goals, our CSR efforts extend into ecosystem restoration, ensuring a better future for people and the planet.

Together, we are completing the cycle of sustainability: from industry to nature.
